SELANGOR and Sarawak continue to be only the two states reporting more than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Selangor logged 1,163 and Sarawak had 1,009, the CovidNow website showed.
The number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia now stands at 2.37 million.
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases yesterday were Johor (787), Kedah (428), Kelantan (838), Malacca (289), Negri Sembilan (199), Pahang (356), Perak (302), Perlis (54), Penang (539), Sabah (720), Terengganu (426), Putrajaya (39), Kuala Lumpur (265), and Labuan (6).
Malaysia’s active cases also dropped below the 100,000 mark to 97,505.
Of these, 703 patients were treated in intensive care units, with 366 of them on ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 75,068 patients were in home quarantine, 14,537 in low-risk quarantine centres and 7,197 hospitalised.
Total recoveries number 2.25 million, 11,413 of which were reported yesterday. – October 16, 2021.
