MALAYSIA logged 11,413 Covid-19 recoveries against 7,420 infections as of noon today, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The country has been consistently reporting more Covid-19 recoveries than infections for 29 consecutive days.
A total of 2,251,758 people has now recovered from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said ICU admissions have been at a decline with 700 patients in ICU compared to 762 on Monday.
Of the total, 635 are Covid-19 cases, while 65 are suspected and probable cases under investigation.
He said 364 patients require respiratory support, of which 82 are suspected and probable cases under investigation.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said a majority of today’s cases, or 7,312, belonged to categories 1 (asymptomatic) and 2 (mildly symptomatic) while 108 were in the more severe categories of infections.
He also reported 13 new clusters of infection, of which nine involved workplaces, three in the community, and one in an academic institution.
Today’s clusters bring the total number of active clusters in the country to 721. – October 15, 2021.
