SELANGOR and Sarawak were the two states reporting more than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Selangor logged 1,630 and Sarawak, 1,061, the CovidNow website showed.
Selangor has seen a steady increase in infections in the past few days after a dip.
The number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia now stands 2.36 million.
Other states and federal territories which reported new cases yesterday were Johor (804), Kedah (416), Kelantan (896), Malacca (255), Negri Sembilan (184), Pahang (289), Perak (409), Perlis (82), Penang (587), Sabah (691), Terengganu (452, and Putrajaya (24).
Labuan did not report new infections.
There were 101,587 active coronavirus cases in Malaysia as of last night. Of these, 702 patients were in intensive care, 367 of them requiring ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 78,414 patients were in home quarantine; 14,975 in low-risk quarantine centres; and 7,496 were hospitalised.
Total recoveries number 2.24 million, 12,456 of which were reported yesterday. β October 15, 2021.
