Covid-19 ICU admission down from 728 to 702

MALAYSIA reported a dip in ICU admissions from 728 yesterday to 702 as of noon today, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

He said of the 702 in ICU, 683 account for Covid-19 cases, while the other 19 are suspected and probable cases under investigation.

Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said 367 patients require respiratory support. Of the total, 286 are confirmed to be Covid-19 cases and the rest are suspected and probable cases under investigation.

The country also reported 12,456 new recoveries against 8,084 new infections as of noon today.

Recoveries have outpaced new cases for 28 consecutive days.

Meanwhile, 17 new clusters were detected – nine involved workplaces, 16 in the community and one in an academic institution.

The country currently has 744 active clusters nationwide. – October 14, 2021.
