MALAYSIA recorded 8,084 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, a slight increase from yesterday’s 7,950, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
With the latest figure, the country has recorded close to 2.4 million Covid-19 cases since the epidemic began.
The breakdown of cases will be updated on the CovidNow website after midnight.
Meanwhile, the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply said today the country has fully vaccinated over 21 million people, or 66.6%, of the general population.
It said 24.6 million people, or 75.4% of the population, have received at least one dose.
More than 2.4 million, or 75.9% of children aged 12 to 17 have received one vaccine dose while 453,906 or 14.4%, have been fully vaccinated.
The CovidNow tracker projects that 80% of the population will be fully vaccinated by December 4. – October 14, 2021.
