Covid-19 daily deaths dip to 68

MALAYSIA logged 68 Covid-19 fatalities as of midnight, a dip from 103 the previous day, the Health Ministry reported.

According to data from the Git.hub raw data repository, all the fatalities were backlog cases, meaning no deaths occurred yesterday.

Of the total deaths, 12 cases were classified dead on arrival.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

The coronavirus death toll in Malaysia is 27,593.

Sarawak was the only state yesterday to record double digits deaths with 16 fatalities.

Other states and territories that logged virus-linked deaths were Johor (9), Kelantan and Sabah (6), Perak (8), Pahang, Perlis, Selangor, Penang and Malacca (3), Negri Sembilan and Kedah (2).

No deaths were reported in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

There were 106,047 active infections in Malaysia as of last night. Of these, 722 patients were treated in intensive care units, 380 of them requiring ventilator support;. 82,634 patients were in home quarantine; 15,228 in low-risk quarantine centres; and 7,463 in hospitals.

Total recoveries stand at 2.22 million, including 10,832 yesterday.  β€“ October 14, 2021.
