7,950 new Covid-19 cases today

MALAYSIA logged 7,950 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, an increase from yesterday’s 7,276, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. 

With the latest infections, the national caseload is now 2,361,529.  

The breakdown of cases will be updated on the CovidNow website after midnight.

Meanwhile, the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply said today the country has fully vaccinated 21.6 million people, or 66.1%, of the general population.

It said 24.6 million people, or 75.2% of the population, have received at least one dose.

More than 1.9 million, or 63% of children aged 12 to 17 have received one vaccine dose while 370,995, or 11.8%, have been fully vaccinated.

The CovidNow tracker projects that 80% of the population will be fully vaccinated by November 30. – October 13, 2021.
