THE Klang Valley accounted for 1,587 of the total 7,276 Covid-19 infections reported yesterday, the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website said.
Klang Valley is made up of Selangor, which logged 1,302 cases, Kuala Lumpur (253) and Putrajaya (32).
Among the three, there was a significant increase in the number of cases in Selangor after it logged 671 new cases the day before.
Meanwhile, the figures also showed that for the first time in two months, Sarawak reported fewer than 1,000 cases with 834. The last time the state reported under four figures was on August 17 with 835 cases.
The national caseload stood at 2,348,596 as of midnight.
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases yesterday were Johor (665), Kedah (517), Kelantan (1,028), Malacca (195), Negri Sembilan (138), Pahang (384), Perak (336), Perlis (57), Penang (406), Sabah (707), Terengganu (420) and Labuan (2). – October 13, 2021.
