7,276 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA logged 7,276 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, a slight increase from yesterday’s 6,709 infections, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. 

Yesterday’s figure was the lowest number of Covid-19 cases in a day in more than three months. 

With today’s fresh infections, the total number of cases recorded in the country is now 2,353,579. 

The breakdown of cases will be updated on the CovidNow website after midnight.

Meanwhile, 65.6% of the general population have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 after 184,486 doses were dispensed yesterday.  

The committee for ensuring access to Covid-19 vaccine supply said 24,510,702 people or 75% of the population have received at least one dose.

As of yesterday, as many as 2,027,472 people or 64.4% of adolescents have also received one dose of the vaccine while 283,023 people or 9% of adolescents have been fully vaccinated.

More than 45,835,200 million vaccine doses have been administered under the national Covid-19 immunisation programme. – October 12, 2021.
