Senior pathologist to assist committee probing Adib’s death

A SENIOR pathologist has been appointed to assist the special committee probing the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said.

In a statement, the de facto Law Minister said that the pathologist will examine the coroner’s court ruling on the case, police findings, and other aspects related to the cause of the death.

He added that the committee will meet after the pathologist comes up with a report on the findings.

However, he did not disclose the identity of the pathologist.

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced on October 9 that the committee would be headed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and would include Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin, Local Government and Housing Minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Attorney-General Idrus Harun.

Adib had sustained serious injuries during a riot at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya, Selangor, on November 27, 2018, and died 21 days later, aged 24, at the National Heart Institute. – October 12, 2021.
