65.6% of population inoculated against Covid-19

AS many as 21,437,380 million people, or 65.6% of the general population have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the special committee for ensuring access to Covid-19 vaccine supply.

The committee said a total of 75% or 24,510,702 of the population have received at least one dose.

Meanwhile, as many as 2,027,472 or 64.4% of adolescents have received one dose of the vaccine, as of yesterday, while 283,023 or 9% have been fully vaccinated.

Using the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website tracker, it projects 80% of the adolescent population will be fully vaccinated by November 5.

Meanwhile, Malaysia now has inoculated 94.9% of its adult population after successfully hitting its 90% target on Sunday.

The Klang Valley now has the highest proportion of vaccinations with 82.3% of its general population and 115.7% of its adult population inoculated.

The latter figure takes into account changes in population size since the last census was taken.

Sabah has the lowest vaccination coverage with only 49.1% of the population inoculated. Some 73.7% of the adult population have received one dose, as well as 56.8% of adolescents.

Meanwhile, 45,835,200 million doses of vaccine have been administered under the national Covid-19 immunisation programme. – October 12, 2021.
