Malaysia logs 6,709 new Covid-19 cases, lowest since July

MALAYSIA recorded its lowest number of Covid-19 cases in a day in more than three months today, with 6,709 fresh infections as of noon, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post today.

This is the lowest number of daily Covid-19 cases since July 5, when 6,387 infections were registered.

The national caseload now stands at 2,346,303, including the infections today.

The breakdown of cases will be updated on the CovidNow website after midnight.

Malaysia has also vaccinated 90% of its adults against the coronavirus.

According to the CovidNow website, 21.07 million adults have completed their Covid-19 vaccination, while 1.11 million (4.8%) have received one dose.

In terms of the general population, 21.30 million (65.2%) people are fully vaccinated, while 3.15 million have received one dose.

For those aged between 12 and 17, a total of 231,714 individuals (7.4%) are fully vaccinated, while 2.04 million have received one dose. – October 11, 2021.
