MALAYSIA recorded 13,045 Covid-19 recoveries against 9,380 infections as of noon today, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
A total of 2,144,681 people has now recovered from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said there are currently 851 patients in the intensive care units (ICU), of which 51 are suspected and probable cases under investigation.
Of the 851, 447 need respiratory assistance. Similarly, 348 of these patients were confirmed Covid-19 cases, while 99 are suspected and probable cases under investigation.
Noor Hisham said, of the total infections today, 9,199 cases were in Category 1 (asymptomatic), or Category 2 (mild symptoms).
A total of 181 cases were in categories 3, 4, or 5, with more serious symptoms.
He said 11 new clusters were also detected by health authorities, of which five were in workplaces, five in the community and one among high-risk groups.
The figure today brings the total number of active clusters nationwide to 932. The country has recorded 5,547 clusters since the pandemic began. β October 6, 2021.
