88.4% of adults fully dosed against coronavirus


MALAYSIA has fully vaccinated 20.82 million people, or 63.8% of the general population against Covid-19, the special committee for vaccine supply said today.

This meant that 88.4% adults have received the full course, and 94.5%, one dose. The committee said 73.8% of the general population have received at least one vaccine shot.

As of yesterday, 1.9 million, or 62.5% of adolescents have received one dose of the vaccine while 120,402 or 3.8% have been fully vaccinated.

The Health Ministry’s CovidNow website tracker projects that 100% of the adult population will be fully vaccinated by October 26.
 
The Klang Valley has the highest vaccination rate at 81.9% of the general population and 111.8% of the adult population.

Sabah has the lowest vaccination coverage having only fully inoculated only 62.7% of the adults.

The state has administered one vaccine shot to 72.7% of the adults and the full course to 44.5% of the total population.

In total, 43.79 million doses of vaccine have been administered under the national immunisation programme, including 224,034 d yesterday.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government is working towards vaccinating the remaining 20% of the adults who have yet to get their shots. – October 6, 2021.
