INDIVIDUALS who are unable to get their Covid-19 jabs due to health reasons can apply for a digital vaccination exemption certificate via MySejahtera, said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said these individuals will have to submit an evaluation slip authorised by their doctors to the nearest district health office.

“If the application is complete and fulfils all conditions, a digital certificate will be issued via MySejahtera within a week,” he said during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.

The Rembau MP said doctors may suggest a different type of Covid-19 vaccine to those who are allergic to a certain brand.

However, he added, those who are unable to get any jab have been advised to observe stricter standard operating procedures.

Khairy was responding to Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis (Kota Belud-Warisan) on the alternatives available to individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to health reasons and the issuance of the relevant documentation.

He said those who do not have smartphones can use the physical cards issued as proof of vaccination.

“Those who lost their cards may go to the nearest district health office, and we will look into issuing a new card.”

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr Adham Baba had recently said only the digital vaccination certificate issued via MySejahtera will be accepted as proof of vaccination.

Khairy said his ministry will upload data on adverse post-vaccination side effects on its website, adding that there has been no death linked to the Covid-19 vaccine so far. – October 4, 2021.
