AS of August, the government has spent RM2.8 billion for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Adham Baba said today.
“Of this, RM2.6 billion was used for the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines,” said the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He said the other expenses incurred were for outsourcing of medical personnel (RM210 million), PICK assets (RM19 million) and other vaccine supplies (RM11 million).
The government also spent RM1.9 million for vaccine cards and forms, RM1.3 million for vaccine management and RM443,000 for post-vaccination surveillance and upgrading of the Ministry of Health system.
Dr Adham was responding to Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s (Pandan-PH) question on the expenditure for PICK.
The government has allocated RM5.8 billion for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
As of September 25, a total of 19,481,273 individuals or 83.1% of the adult population in the country have been fully vaccinated.
So far, 93.6% of Malaysia’s adult population or 21,923,560 individuals have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine as of September 26. A total of 27,139 individuals aged 12 to 17 or 0.9% of the adolescent population in the country have also completed their vaccination.
This brings the cumulative total of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 42,106,397. – September 30, 2021.
