THE National Recovery Council (NRC) has recommended that Putrajaya create such councils in every state to enable a bottom-up approach to the country’s economic revival.

Its chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said that state-level authorities may guarantee that plans and initiatives put in place are reviewed at the district level.

“This is in line with a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach. We cannot just think of (what happens at) the national level. We also have to look at states and districts.

“A bottom-up approach will give us a clearer picture of what steps need to be taken to ensure the country’s recovery,” he said after chairing an NRC meeting today.

He said the proposal will be submitted to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his cabinet for approval.

“We cannot only manage at the national level without taking into account the power and the role that can be contributed by state governments and its district administrations,” he said.

He said the bottom-up and vice versa approach will give the government a more accurate picture as to what steps need to be taken in order to manage the country’s recovery from Covid-19. – September 27, 2021.

  • Sound like a delegation or Tai Chi tactic, nothing is the article that has real plan put in place, its just a high level approach without any substance.
