A FOUR-HOUR downpour today has caused chaos in the Klang Valley, bringing flash floods that have caused vehicles to stall and traffic to come to a stop on many of the main roads.

According to the Astro Radio Traffic Facebook page, traffic is bumper to bumper on the Shah Alam highway (Kesas) from Bukit Rimau to Seafield due to flash floods.

Traffic on both sides of Damansara-Puchong highway (LDP) between Penchala and Kelana Jaya has also been been jammed up for an hour, Astro Radio Traffic reported.

Traffic is also at a crawl on Persiaran Surian, near the SMK Section 10, and on a stretch of LDP near The Curve shopping mall.

A flash flood near Sri Damansara is also the cause of clogged traffic on both sides of the MRR2.

The Meteorological Department said thunderstorms are expected to last until Friday throughout Malaysia

Its director-general Alui Bahar has said a few weeks ago that Malaysia was experiencing temperatures as low as 21 degrees Celsius.

He said it is currently the northeast monsoon season, when heavy rain is common, in Malaysia. – January 24, 2018.
