THE government has decided to pay the developers of the MySejahtera application from April 1 this year because it is important for managing the Covid-19 epidemic, the prime minister has told the Dewan Rakyat.
The app can also be developed further, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a written reply to questions raised by members of Parliament.
“The amount and method of payment will be decided by Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit, Ministry of Health, Public Private Partnership Unit, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, National Cyber Security Agency and National Security Council,” the reply said.
The MySejahtera app began as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and the CSR period ended on March 31, 2021, the reply further stated.
It did not state how much will be paid to the developers.
The prime minister was responding to questions from Wong Kah Woh (Ipoh Timur-PH) and Alice Lau (Lanang-PH) who asked how much the government had paid for the much-criticised MySejahtera application.
The prime minister, however, disagreed with the criticisms.
“The statement that MySejahtra has lots of bugs and provides unsatisfactory service is inaccurate as the application has been continuously improved,” he said. – September 21, 2021.
