PAKATAN Harapan’s election manifesto will have something to ease the burdens of Felda settlers and Malaysian Indians, Bersatu’s Dr Rais Hussin said today.

The opposition coalition hopes to unveil its manifesto before the Chinese New Year on Feb 16.

“The manifesto is ready but it has to be endorsed by the PH presidential council which is due to meet on January 30,” said the Bersatu strategic director in Kuala Lumpur today.

“The individual parties will then take the manifesto back for discussion.”

The manifesto contained five thrusts, 10 promises to fulfil within 100 days of forming the federal government, and 50 promises in five years, said Rais.

It also had two commitments with special focus on Felda settlers and Indian Malaysians, he added.

The PH manifesto team consists of Rais, Sim Tze Tzin (PKR), Dr Ong Kian Ming (DAP) and Dr Dzulkifli Ahmad (Amanah).

Rais also announced the appointment Bersatu’s strategy deputy director, Islamic scholar Abu Hafiz Salleh Hudin.

Abu’s role will be to address and articulate the party’s position on issues of Islam. – January 23, 2018.
