SARAWAK has dispensed with the need for returning Sarawakians, and Malaysians from other states, to undergo mandatory quarantine on entering the state beginning tomorrow.

Revising its Covid-19 pandemic entry rules, the state disaster management committee said the quarantine exemption, however, only applies to those who are fully vaccinated.

It said fully vaccinated means the second dose of the Pfizer, Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccine they are taking should have been administered more than two weeks before arrival, while for the one-dose CanSino and Jansen vaccines, it should be more than 28 days.

The committee said the exemption should be made in their EnterSarawak application, the eHealth Declaration Form (eHDF) with the documentary proof they have been fully vaccinated.

One requirement that is still mandatory is the need to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test.

The test should be taken three days before arrival.

Dependents who are under the age of 18 will similarly be exempted from the quarantine.

The disaster committee however, said it is advisable for minors to undergo home quarantine for 10 days.

Travellers who are not fully vaccinated will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine in a state government-designated quarantine hotel on arrival. – September 15, 2021.
