The biggest contributors to Covid-19 cases are sporadic cases, and not factories, Minister of International Trade and Industry Mohamed Azmin Ali. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 15, 2021.

IT is inaccurate to say that factories contributed to a bulk of the Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as only 6.1% of the infections reported between June and August this year were attributed to the manufacturing sector, said Mohamed Azmin Ali.

The Minister of International Trade and Industry said, while citing data from the Health Ministry’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), that the manufacturing sector accounted for 30.2% or 761 of the 2,521 clusters reported during the period.
