MALAYSIA today contributed 250,000 units of masks to Iraq, Wisma Putra said in a statement.

The contribution marked an integral part of the Malaysian government’s continuous effort to work closely with the republic and the international community to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, it said.

The contribution, made through Iraq’s embassy in Kuala Lumpur, was funded by the Akaun Amanah Pembelaan Rakyat Iraq, which was established in 2003 under the ministry.

“Malaysia’s contribution to Iraq reflects the warm and cordial ties both countries continue to enjoy amid the pandemic.

“Malaysia reaffirms its commitment to continuing our cooperation with Iraq for the mutual benefit of both countries,” it added. – Bernama, September 12, 2021.
