THE Pakatan Harapan presidential council has appointed several new leaders to head the pact in preparation for the 15th general election.

This includes the appointment of PKR’s Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as the council’s new chief secretary, replacing former PKR lawmaker Saifuddin Abdullah, who left PH in 2020 to join Bersatu under Muhyiddin Yassin’s Perikatan Nasional government.

In a statement, the presidential council also announced the appointment of DAP Pasir Pinji assemblyman, Howard Lee, as its new youth chief.

Howard replaces Amanah’s Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin, who died of Covid-19 last month.

The council also appointed Senator Aiman Athirah as its women chief, while Salahuddin Ayub was appointed as the strategy director.

Both Aiman and Salahuddin are Amanah members.

Seremban MP Anthony Loke and Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil have been appointed as the coalition’s parliamentarian whip chief and communication chief respectively.

“Congratulations to those appointed and we hope this appointment will strengthen the coalition’s preparation for election,” it said in a statement.

The statement was signed off by PKR’s Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah’s Mohamad Sabu, and DAP’s Lim Guan Eng. – September 12, 2021.
