21,176 new Covid-19 cases, Sarawak tops list

With 21,176 new Covid-19 cases recorded today, the national caseload is now 1,940,950. – The Malaysian Insight pic, September 10, 2021.

MALAYSIA today logged 21,176 fresh Covid-19 infections, taking the national caseload to 1,940,950, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
 
According to Health Ministry statistics, Sarawak logged the highest number of cases in the last 24 hours with 3,734 infections.
 
Selangor came in next, recording 3,595 cases, while Johor had 2,297 cases.

Other states and federal territories that reported new cases today are Kuala Lumpur (467), Kedah (1,808), Negri Sembilan (252), Penang (1,939), Kelantan (1,254), Perak (1,366), Malacca (485), Pahang (853), Terengganu (776), Putrajaya (21) and Perlis (77).

Labuan recorded the lowest case count with only six.

Earlier today, the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply said 16.7 million adults, or 71.3% of the grown-up population, have completed their  vaccination as of yesterday.

It said  51.1% of the population have been inoculated against the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 21.08 million adults, or 90% of the adult population, and 64.5% of the general population have received at least one dose. – September 10, 2021.
