68.8% of adult population fully vaccinated against Covid

HEALTH authorities administered 313,751 doses of Covid-19 vaccines yesterday, bringing the number of fully vaccinated to 16,107,712 or 68.8% of the adult population.

The special committee for Covid-19 vaccine access said 132,640 people received their first dose yesterday, while 181,111 received their second.

To date, 20,677,827 people, or 88.3% of the adult population, have received a first shot.

Klang Valley has surpassed Labuan as the state with the highest rate of full vaccination, with 5,987,464 people, or 97.1% of its adult population fully vaccinated.

More than 36 million doses of vaccines have been administered since February 24, the start of the national immunisation drive.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government expects 80% of the adult population to be vaccinated by the end of October, by when Covid-19 would be endemic in the country. – September 7, 2021.
