THE body of tahfiz pupil Mohd Thaqif Amin Mohd Gaddafi was exhumed yesterday to extract more samples for testing.

The hospital authorities took samples from the legs, Astro Awani reported early today. The process was witnessed by Thaqif’s uncle, Mas Ariff, and grandfather, Ahmad Motai, during the exhumation at Felda Bukit Aping Timur in Kota Tinggi at 2pm.

Police had earlier informed the boy’s father Mohd Gaddafi Mat Karim, Mas Ariff told Awani.

“I witnessed the process when the hospital authorities exhumed the body to obtain samples. Also, there were people from the court, state Islamic authorities and others,” Mat Ariff told Awani.

The Malaysian Insight reported earlier that the post-mortem report was expected to be ready within two weeks.

Thaqif, 11, died on April 26 after a series of alleged beatings by a school assistant warden led to the amputation of the legs. The boy died as he was about to have a third operation on the right arm.

The warden was remanded for more than a week before he was released on May 3 on a RM20,000 court bond. The case has been classified as murder. – May 19, 2017.
