28 new Covid-19 clusters today, 15 from community transmissions

A TOTAL of 28 new Covid-19 clusters, contributing 1,041 cases, were traced by the Health Ministry today, most of which were linked to community infections, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

The Health Ministry director-general said 15 clusters were traced to the community (530 cases), 12 linked to workplaces (437 cases) and one detected at a detention centre (74 cases).

Sarawak brought in the highest number of clusters today with nine, of which seven were from the community and two from workplaces, while Kelantan reported five new clusters, all linked to community transmissions.

Clusters detected in other states include Selangor and Penang (four each), Pahang (three), Johor (two) and Terengganu (one).

The 28 new Covid-19 clusters are:

10. Kg Lubok Pukol in Kota Baru, Kelantan (12 cases)

Noor Hisham said that these additions today bring the total number of clusters in the country to 4,611, of which 1,467 are still active and 3,144 have ended. – August 27, 2021.
