THE doctor treating Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for his back injury told the Kuala Lumpur High Court today that he had no choice but to perform surgery yesterday due to the “great pain” that Zahid was in.

Dr Mohd Shahir Anuar from Avisena Specialist Hospital in Shah Alam told judge Collin Sequerah that the procedure could only be performed yesterday even though Zahid was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, as he had other chronic diseases and had to be stabilised first.

  • That pain obviously did not prevent him from travelling (to the palace) and sitting down for more than an hour at the palace, she said./

That's interesting. The doctor should have been grilled by another specialist from a government hospital who should have been shown the X-rays, MRI's etc. There's now a doubt after deputy public prosecutor Raja Rozela Raja Toran's statement about the accused being able to go to the Palace on the 21at after his purported fall on the 18th. Did the doctor lie to the court??

  • Good health is something we ask God, whenever we pray. How can anyone lie about it? Was it too difficult to send someone from the family to court to inform the judge about it early?
