New Covid-19 cases drop below 21,000

The country has logged 21,468 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a slight decline from yesterday’s 21,468 infections. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Seth Akmal, August 14, 2021.

AFTER recording more than 21,000 cases for two straight days, Malaysia saw a slight drop in the number of new cases with 20,670 Covid-19 infections logged in the last 24 hours.

Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said cumulative number of infections now stands at 1,384,353.

A total of 21,468 cases were reported yesterday, the second highest to date.

The country logged an all-time high of 21,668 cases on Thursday.

Selangor continued to top of the tally with 6,606 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,028 infections.

Meanwhile, Kedah logged 1,796 cases, Sabah (1,752), Johor (1,425), Kelantan (1,370), Penang (1,251), Perak (1,003), Pahang (794), Negri Sembilan (727), Sarawak (725), Terengganu (560), Malacca (521), Perlis (61) and Putrajaya (51).

No new cases were reported in Labuan. – August 14, 2021.
