SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, who accused a male teacher of making jokes about rape in a TikTok video, has been asked to appear at the Sg Buloh police station tomorrow after the teacher made a report against her.

Her father, Saiful Nizam, tweeted that he had received a call today from the Sg Buloh police station to have Ain’s statement recorded.

He added that they will be accompanied by lawyer Sankara Nair, Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah and Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.

In another tweet, Ain said she was summoned with her father because of a report made by the teacher against her.

Earlier today, Sg Buloh police chief Supt Shafa’aton Abu Bakar reportedly said the deputy public prosecutor in charge of the teacher’s case had decided that the case required no further action.

Yesterday, Ain received a letter of demand for “defamatory statements” made against the teacher.

Ain and her parents were named as respondents in the letter, which demanded, among others, an apology and monetary compensation of RM1 million.

Saiful said they received the letter of demand from the law firm of Rasshidi Ema & Yung.

He, however, said the notice of demand came from Ain’s former physical education and health teacher.

Ain, who was pivotal in getting the #MakeSchoolASaferPlace hashtag trend on social media, claimed in April that her school’s physical fitness and health education teacher jokingly encouraged his pupils at SMK Puncak Alam, Selangor, to commit rape.

After news of this went viral, the education ministry transferred the teacher to the state education department. – August 5, 2021.
