Civil servant among 15 arrested at wild party


FIFTEEN people, including a civil servant, were detained for suspected involvement in a wild party at a luxury condominium, Jalan Ceylon Residences, in Kuala Lumpur early today despite movement control under the national recovery plan.

Dang Wangi district police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the 15 arrested – nine women and six men – in the 1am raid are locals, aged between 17 and 45.

“During the raid, police found traces of drugs, a loudspeaker and disco lights. Eleven of them – eight women and three men – tested positive for drugs,” he said in a statement today.

Zainal said the case was being investigated under section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and section 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (Measures in Local Areas of Infection (National Recovery Plan) 2021 for engaging in social activities.

The suspects are being remanded for three days until Saturday. – Bernama, August 5, 2021.
