30 new Covid-19 clusters, bulk linked to community and workplace

HEALTH authorities have identified 30 new Covid-19 clusters today, increasing the number of active groupings in the country to 1,143, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Of the new clusters, he said, 14 clusters each were from workplaces and communities, while the two remaining were high-risk groups.

Noor Hisham said Kelantan and Selangor recorded the most number of clusters today with six each, while four was traced in Johor, Sarawak (three), Perak, Pahang, Kedah and Negri Sembilan (two each), and Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Terengganu (one each).

The 30 new Covid-19 clusters are:

7. Dah Kg Nonang in Kota Star, Kedah (45 cases)

8. Dah Kg Tiang in Pendang, Kedah (30 cases)

9. Kerteh Lima in Dungun, Terengganu (78 cases)

10. Kg Telaga Air in Kuching (61 cases)

Noor Hisham said that the new clusters reported today brought the total number of virus groupings in the country to 3,761, of which 2,618 have ended. – August 3, 2021.
