ENERGY and Natural Resources Minister Shamsul Anuar Nasarah has quit from Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s cabinet, citing his party’s decision for it.

“In view of several decisions made by the party (Umno), I, as a loyal Umno member, I hereby state my resignation as a minister,” he said in a short statement today posted on his Facebook page.

The Umno Supreme Council member thanked Muhyiddin for giving him an opportunity to serve, and the party leadership for nominating him as a minister.

Having quit the cabinet, Shamsul said he will focus his energy now on serving his Lenggong constituents and working for the party. – August 3, 2021.
