SENIOR citizens nationwide will be able to walk in for their vaccination from next week, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

“Some states are already allowing it,” the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) said in the weekly NIP press conference.

“Some states will also prepare to accept walk-ins for all senior citizens who have yet to be vaccinated,” he added.

He said the details of the dates and vaccination centres will be announced by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force at the state level.

Currently, vaccination centres in the Klang Valley have been accepting walk-ins by senior citizens.

Khairy was not joined by Health Minister Dr Adham Baba at the press conference today as he was attending the Public Accounts Committee meeting in Parliament today.

Yesterday, PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh said the committee will meet despite a suggestion from Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah that all meetings in Parliament be cancelled for two weeks.

Wong said today’s meeting will see the PAC gathering feedback on the issue of vaccine procurement from Dr Adham and the director-general of health.

He had said the meeting will be its third on the matter. – August 2, 2021.
