PASIR Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was fined for breaching Covid-19 protocol by not wearing a mask in Parliament yesterday.

Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said that investigations were conducted after Twitter user @sultanoftasik uploaded a picture of Tajuddin in Parliament without a mask on.

“Investigations found that the picture was taken when Tajuddin attended the special Dewan Rakyat sitting yesterday.

“Later that afternoon, he was found not wearing a mask when he was with another individual in the hallway of Parliament,” Beh said in a statement.

Beh said for breaching standard operating procedure, a compound notice was issued to the Umno lawmaker today.

Beh said the total amount of the fine will be decided by the district health office soon.

This is not the first time the former Prasarana chairman has got into trouble with the authorities.

In May, he was summoned to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to give a statement after allegedly violating Covid-19 SOP when he gave a press conference on the collision between two LRT trains without wearing a mask.

He was however, wearing a face shield. He was issued a RM1,500 compound the following month, and paid the fine. – July 27, 2021.
