POLICE have obtained the DNA samples of five people in their investigation into the murder of 15-year-old S. Sathiwaran, who was killed after being struck on the head by a chair thrown from the upper floors of a low-cost flat in Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said the five were among 31 flat dwellers whose statements have been recorded since the incident took place on Monday.

“We also obtained a DNA sample from the chair that struck the victim,” said Mazlan.

Sathiwaran died on the spot from head injuries after the chair struck him while he was walking with his mother on the ground floor of the 21-storey block.
