THE Sarawak government will send oxygen supply to West Kalimantan for Covid-19 patients at hospitals in the Indonesian province, said Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg today.
He said he received a request from West Kalimantan Governor, H. Sutarmidji Sh M. Hum on the matter and the delivery process was being handled by Deputy Chief Minister James Jemut Masing.
He said the delivery would be made between the Sarawak government and West Kalimantan province, and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) would hand over the oxygen supply to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the Sarawak-Kalimantan border, as it was done previously with the sending of cooking gas cylinders.
“The West Kalimantan government has requested the Sarawak government’s assistance due to the lack of oxygen supply in hospitals in the region following the increase in Covid-19 patients admitted to hospitals,” he told reporters after the launch of the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy in Kuching. – July 22, 2021. – Bernama, July 22, 2021.
