PAKATAN Harapan’s (PH) top leaders – Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail – will go on a nationwide road tour to canvas for votes ahead of the 14th general election.

“We only have 14 weeks left if we assume the elections (will be) held in May,” said Dr Mahathir in a press conference after a PH central committee meeting in Petaling Jaya today.

Dubbed Jelajah Harapan, Dr Mahathir said he and Dr Wan Azizah will visit every state in the coming weeks to meet voters.

Other top leaders in the opposition coalition will also be meeting voters nationwide via walkabouts and ceramah sessions to explain PH policies to reduce cost of living, reform public institutions and combat corruption.

Dr Mahathir said they will be addressing various allegations thrown by Barisan Nasional (BN) against the opposition, but did not reveal more.

The 92-year-old former prime minister had already toured most of the country, speaking to voters in urban and rural areas in the past several months.

He was named PH’s prime minister candidate with Dr Wan Azizah as his deputy if PH won federal power in GE14 which must be held before August.

The PH coalition which comprise PKR, Bersatu, DAP and Amanah will contest 165 parliamentary seats in the peninsula.

Bersatu was allocated 52, PKR (51), DAP (35) and Amanah (27). – January 16, 2018.
