DAILY Covid-19 cases dipped to 10,710 today after trending above 12,000 over the last two days, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.  

The director-general of health said the daily tally brings the national caseload to 916,561. 

Malaysia reported 12,528 cases yesterday and 12,541 cases on Friday. 

Selangor is in the lead with 4,828 infections reported in the past 24 hours, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 945 cases.

Apart from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, other states that reported new cases today were Johor (808), Sabah (666), Sarawak (261), Negri Sembilan (771), Penang (295), Kelantan (146), Kedah (696), Perak (407) Malacca (289), Pahang (369), Terengganu (123), Labuan (50), Putrajaya (51) and Perlis (5). 

In a related development, more than 14 million doses of vaccine have been dispensed under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme so far. 

Of this, 9.57 million people or 40.9% of the adult population has been partially vaccinated with one dose while 18.9% or 4.43 million people have been fully immunised with two doses. 

Tiny Labuan was in the lead in terms of vaccination rate with 86.1% of its population having received one dose and 60.1% completing their two-dose schedule. – July 18, 2021.
