PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang showed signs of improvement 24 hours after having surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN), his political secretary Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said today.

“One of the first things Tuan Guru asked me to do when he started speaking again is to send his regards to all who wished him well.

“He seemed to be in good spirits and had begun eating soft food this morning,” Ahmad Samsuri said in a statement today.

He added that visits are limited to immediate family only while his family and PAS leaders called on supporters to continue praying for his health.

The 69-year-old Marang MP was hospitalised on Monday for “intensive treatment” for an undisclosed illness. – May 17, 2017.
