PEOPLE living in enhanced movement control order (EMCO) areas are allowed to go for their vaccination appointments, even if they have to cross district or state borders, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“Similarly, for those who want to return to the village to bring family members to get vaccinated either outside the district or state is allowed,” he said in a statement today.

He added that they just needed to show their MySejahtera appointment and get permission from the police.

A maximum of three people are allowed, including the vehicle driver, for the vaccination.

Last week, Ismail announced that a swathe of districts in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur would be subject to the EMCO for two weeks from July 3 to 16.

He said the EMCO for these places was decided based on risk assessments whereby high Covid-19 infection rates were still prevalent.

Selangor has been reporting an average Covid-19 daily new cases of between 1,800 and 1,900, while Kuala Lumpur had an average of daily new cases in the range of 600 to 1,000, the defence minister said in a statement. – July 5, 2021.
