PAHANG Umno Youth today called for action to be taken against Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar for allegedly insulting Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is ill, and using a video clip of him to crack jokes during a political ceramah.

State Umno Youth chief Mohd Shahar Abdullah said the opposition MP’s actions only showed his shallowness and poor upbringing.

In a statement, he said Mahfuz – formerly with PAS but now an independent – should remember that although he was an elected representative, he was not above the law.

He urged police to investigate the MP under the Sedition Act 1948, and demanded that Mahfuz issue an open apology to the ruler. – Bernama, January 14, 2018.
