THE number of Covid-19 clusters involving workplaces, high-risk groups and detention centres increased between week 22 (May 30 to June 5) and week 23 (June 6 to 12), the Health Ministry said.
Statistics released today showed that there were 15 new workplace clusters (92 to 107) from the first week to the next, and two new high-risk clusters (4 to 6) for the same period.
The percentage increase for workplace clusters was 16.3% while the high-risk group logged a 50% jump, the health ministry’s infographic said.

There was also an increase by 2 or 200% in clusters involving detention centres, from 1 in week 22 to 3 in week 23.
Declines were recorded in clusters involving the community, educational institutions and religious activities.
Community clusters recorded a 31.9% drop from 47 clusters to 32, while education clusters decreased 70% from 10 to 3, and clusters from religious activities dropped 62.5%, from 8 to 3.
There was also a 4.9% decrease in the number of new clusters being reported overall, with 162 in week 22 and 154 in week 23.
But there was an increase in the total number of active clusters, from 701 in week 22, to 761 in week 23.
In terms of the number of cases from clusters, however, there was a 46.4% drop from 16,187 new cases stemming from clusters in week 22, to 8,684 cases in week 23. – June 16, 2021.
