PAKATAN Harapan’s new logo will be determined by a public vote soon, said its secretariat chief Saifuddin Abdullah.

The secretariat will shortlist 10 logo designs from the  330 submissions that the coalition had received over the last month.

The shortlist will be put up for public viewing soon, said Saifuddin.

“The four (PH component) parties are going through the 330 proposals we received. We will shortlist 10 and put them up on the web. This will be done within a week,” Saifuddin told reporters at the
secretariat office today.

The winning logo will be submitted to the Registrar of Societies for registration, he said.

PH had turned to the public last month for design ideas for its new logo.

On a separate issue, PH has demanded that Dewan Rakyat Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia resign after his admission that he harboured political ambitions for the next general election.

“Pandikar has expressed a wish to be chosen as a candidate in Sabah,” said Saifuddin, adding that these political desires compromised Pandikar’s ability to fulfil his duties as Dewan Rakyat speaker.

He said PH believes Pandikar is unable to push for reforms in the Dewan Rakyat, such as the formation of more select committees, due to these political ambition.

“Because he does not want to annoy (Barisan Nasional chairman Prime Minister) Najib (Razak), he would probably not push for these reforms.

“So if he cannot focus on reforming Parliament and he wants to go back to active politics, we feel he should resign,” said Saifuddin. – May 16, 2017.
