BREAK out your umbrellas and jackets because the cold weather and rain is here to stay for another two days, according to the Meteorological Department.
Its director-general Alui Bahari said the weather is normal during the northeast monsoon season and is expected to last till Sunday.
“Rain is normal during the northeast monsoon season like now. There is heavy rain in Pahang and Johor.
“The heavy rain will continue there and we will update on weather conditions every day on the MyCuaca app,” he said when contacted by The Malaysian Insight.
“The warning will be in effect until tomorrow, but we expect it to be extended until Sunday,” said Alui.
The warning also said there will be heavy rain in Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian), Pahang (Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera and Jerantut), Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman) and Sarawak (Mukah, Sibu, Sarikei, Betong, Sri Aman, Samarahan, Serian and Kuching) until tomorrow.
The department also warned today on Category 3 winds over 60km/h and rough seas with waves over 4.5m in waters off Terengganu, Pahang and east Johor until Sunday.
Winds of 40-50km/h with waves up to 4.5m are expected off the Kelantan coast until Sunday.
Meanwhile, waters off Sarawak, Sabah (Interior, West Coast and Kudat) and Labuan can expect Category 1 winds of 40-50km/h with waves up to 3.5m until Sunday.
