WORKS Minister Fadillah Yusof has tested positive for Covid-19 and is undergoing home quarantine for 14 days.

His office said in a statement he was found to be asymptomatic in a test he took yesterday morning.

The test the senior minister took was a “routine test” carried out on him, his aides and staff of his office.

The statement added all past tests taken by the minister, the last only a week ago on June 3, had been negative.

It also said Fadillah was “in a stable condition” and, despite being quarantined, will continue to be involved in the ministry’s affairs.

The Petra Jaya MP is not the first minister who had contracted Covid-19.

Others who had tested positive include National Unity Minister Halimah Mohamed Sadique, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin and Home Affairs Minister Hamzah Zainudin, who contracted the infection after attending a cabinet meeting in January.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rina Mohd Harun was confirmed with the infection at the same meeting while Economic Affairs Minister Mustapa Mohamed had tested positive just days after the January 6 cabinet meeting. – June 11, 2021.
