Actor Farid Kamil remanded for 4 days for allegedly slapping cop


ACTOR Farid Kamil was today remanded for four days for allegedly slapping a policeman and kicking a member of the public at the Kota Damansara police station in Petaling Jaya yesterday, the Star reports. 

Magistrate Zaki Ashraf Zubir issued the order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Farid was brought to the court about 10am dressed in purple lock-up attire.

Lawyer Athari Bahardin said Farid was remanded to assist investigations under Section 353 of the Penal Code for criminal assault of a public servant, and Section 323 of the Code and Section 90 of the Police Act for disorderly conduct, and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The actor was at the police station at 1.20pm yesterday to lodge a report about an accident.

Farid suddenly slapped the policeman taking the report and kicked the leg of the man next him. 

Harian Metro said the actor lost his temper after being shown a news article “300 artis pinjam Ah Long” (300 artistes borrowing from loan sharks) on a smart phone. – January 12, 2018.
