Health Ministry reports 22 new Covid-19 clusters


Twenty-two new Covid-19 clusters have been detected in the past 24 hours, which 18 were linked to the workplace, three were community clusters and one linked to religious activities. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Nazir Sufari, June 10, 2021.

WORKPLACE clusters accounted for 18 out of the 22 Covid-19 clusters reported in the past 24 hours.

Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that apart from the workplace clusters, there were three community clusters and one linked to religious activities.

There 18 workplace clusters on the list today were:

1. Industri Kampung Jaya in Gombak and Petaling, Selangor – 19 cases
2. Jalan Dua Olak Lempit in Kuala Langat, Selangor – 14 cases
3. Jalan Perindustrian Balakong Jaya Dua, Selangor – 15 cases
4. Jalan Tiga Salak Timggi in Sepang and Hulu Langat, Selangor – 15 cases
5. Jalan Tanjung Klang in Klang, Kuala Langat and Petaling, Selangor – 31 cases
6. Alam Perdana Construction site in Kuala Selangor, Selangor – 24 cases
7. Jalan SS Lapan Empat in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya – 71 cases
8. Ploteknologi in Muar and Tangkak, Johor – 49 cases
9. Jalan Besar Batu Enam in Muar, Johor – 6 cases
10. Jalan Bukit Satu Zink in Johor Baru, Johor – 30 cases
11. Jalan Bandar Pasir Gudang in Johor Baru, Johor – 10 cases
12. Jalan Seri Austin in Johor Baru, Johor – 9 cases
13. Jalan Lee Bah Chai in Muar, Johor – 46 cases
14. Jalan Perusahaan Maju Empat in Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai 15 Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang – 19 cases
15. Lebuh Sg Tiram Satu in Seberang Perai Tengah, Barat Daya and Timur Laut, Penang – 18 cases
16. Jalan Besar Perai in Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang  Perai Utara, Penang – 10 cases
17. Kolam Air Construction Site in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur – 131 cases
18. Dah Pekan Baru in Kuala Muda, Kedah – 29 cases

These clusters were detected at factories, construction sites and a restaurant.

The three community clusters on the list today were Bali Pie (62 cases) in Subis and Miri, Sarawak; Jalan Samarakan (49 cases) in Tatau, Sarawak, and Kg Lakai (50 cases) in Jelebu, Negri Sembilan.

Completing the list today was the Kg Lonou cluster of 15 cases in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Noor Hisham said there are currently 745 active clusters in the country. – June 10, 2021.
