No need to regularly update health status on MySejahtera, says NSC

IT is unnecessary for MySejahtera users to regularly update their health status on the mobile application, said the National Security Council (NSC).

In a report in Chinese daily Sin Chew Daily today, director-general of NSC Mohd Rabin Basir clarified that such updates were only needed under certain circumstances.

His explanation came following reports of several factory workers in Perak who were fined for updating their health status in the app.

Rabin said that under the latest standard operating procedure (SOP), the listed four exceptions were if one began exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms, had travelled overseas, had contact with a Covid-19 patient, or had been diagnosed with Covid-19.

“According to NSC’s SOP, only if a factory has any of their workers testing positive, all of the employees must perform daily self-health assessments through MySejahtera,” he was quoted as saying as well.

On Saturday, 31 factory workers were fined between RM1,500 and RM2,000 for failing to update their health status on MySejahtera.

They were fined during a SOP-compliance spot check conducted by enforcement agencies at Kawasan Perindustrian Kg Acheh in Sitiawan, Perak.

Rabin also said the district health office must annul the fines imposed on the workers, unless there had been positive Covid-19 cases in the factory. – June 7, 2021.
